I am frequently asked, “why Nepal__” The

Yoga Instructor

Yoga has been a part of my life for over 10 years, and my practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully and I absolutely love sharing my passion for yoga with my students.

I completed my traditional 200 hour training in the hills of Nepal, and have experience teaching all ages from 1-100. I am a proud co-owner of The Om Nest, a MCSW graduate student, a full time provider for the medicaid disabilities waiver, a newly wed to my best friend, and most recently, a mamma to be!

In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice.  I seek to help others thrive by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga, and my hope is that you step out of my class feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

Located at the Buffalo Senior Center

Chair yoga is an ideal exercise for those suffering from conditions, such as chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoporosis, and multiple sclerosis. It may also benefit people over a certain age who have trouble moving through the up and down motions of traditional yoga. Chair yoga allows them to stay stabilized. Yoga offers a myriad of benefits with increased flexibility, weight loss, and an improved mental state. It’s particularly important for elderly people to implement practices such as chair yoga into their routines.

Tuesday 6 pm
1 hour

This is a special class designed specifically for men. Yoga is not about looking good on Instagram, yoga is intended to help us live and work in a way that is full of ease and joy. Yoga is undoing the patterns that cause us pain.  Come rewind the day of hard work and let yoga work on you! Improve flexibility and balance, relax and soften your tense muscles as you learn to help yourself find freedom from work and life related aches and pains. This class is meant to be fun and full of ease. Wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in, bring some water and let’s get stretching!

Tuesday 4:30 PM

Ashtanga is a flowing, dynamic yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath. Most classes feature several elements of traditional Ashtanga  yoga—including sun salutations, standing poses, preparation for arm balances, dynamic stretching, and pranayama (breathwork). The intention is to build internal heat  and foster greater self-awareness. This practice will build your inner and outer strength, improve your balance, and reduce stress while increasing vitality and athleticism.

This Vinyasa class may include weight-bearing on wrists and arms, fluid transitions between postures, and muscular movements linked to inhales and exhales. Beneficial for all practitioners, these classes teach important foundations while leaving space for more advanced practitioners to play.

Thursday  6:30 am
1 Hour

Align and Flow is an alignment-oriented practice that teaches you to safely create the forms and actions within yoga postures. Classes build progressively and safely towards more complex poses and spend time breaking down the techniques for honing awareness and skills on and off the mat.

Thursday 5:00 PM
1 hour

In this class we will focus on the present moment, connect with our breath and flow mindfully through this stretchy and delicious hour. This is a gentle approach to yoga, and perfect for those who are new or prefer a slower class.

Our goal is to offer classes and programs that suit the health needs and fitness experiences of everyone. Contact us to find out more.

Policies + Student Tips

  • Check the website. Schedules, class descriptions and up-to-date info can always be found here, so check in often.

  • Follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We’ll post any last-minute schedule updates there.

  • Choose the class that’s right for you. Check out our descriptions here if you need some help determining where to start.

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early for your class. We respect everyone’s practice. That means respecting their time and doing our best to minimize distractions once class starts. This also allows you time to settle into The Om Nest and mentally prep yourself for class.

  • Check in at the front desk. We mostly like to say hi, but this also helps us stay organized. If you’re new please let us know so we can better accommodate.

  • Don’t eat before class. Best if you avoid food 2-3 hours prior, in fact. But if you’re hungry, go for a light snack like fruit or nuts.

  • Remove your shoes before entering the studio. This helps us keep our Nest cozy and  clean, and more importantly, helps preserves the sacred nature of our studio space. Shoe mats can be found in the entry way, and cubbies are available for other personal items inside the studio.

  • No cell phones. As we may have mentioned, we try to hold each and every practice sacred. Limiting distractions allows us to keep classes quiet, respectful and introspective.

  • Notify your teacher of any injuries or medical conditions. This helps us know how to assist you during practice, and allows us to suggest proper modifications.

  • How do I sign up for a class? Come on in.  We love meeting new faces and seeing familiar ones. Or, go to our online shop for classes and packages.

  • Where do I park? Parking is available outside our studio behind the Courthouse in the Bomber Mountain Bldg. We can be found on third floor in Room 207.

  • What do I wear? Any comfortable workout clothes will do, like shorts, t-shirts, tanks and leggings. Layers can help you adjust for temperature changes or cozy in for Savasana.

  • Do I need a yoga mat? Having your own mat is recommended. It supports your commitment to your practice and ensures cleanliness, but we do offer equipment for anyone who needs it.

  • Do you offer private lessons? We do! And we love teaching them. We offer options, including group, individual or corporate classes. Contact us for more details, and so we can tailor a custom class for you.
